Camp Go & Grow is a six week summer camp program is held at Michigan State University Tollgate Education Center. Here the kids focus on growing, selling and marketing vegetables, as well as, taking care of farm animals, fishing, canoeing, and learning to cook.
This camp is put on by Farmington Hills Special Services with a partnership through MSU Tollgate. The camp meets 4 days a week for six weeks, allowing the participants to see the growth of a plant from start to finish.
The participants will be designing and building a vertical vegetable garden, as well as a produce stand. The produce stand will be used as they sell their vegetables the last week in July.
The camp is working with MSU Extension in order to create experiences that complement the school curriculum.
